FINALLY!

I've been home since Saturday evening, but after almost four weeks away, there sure has been a lot to catch up on.   The stack of magazines to "peruse" in itself equals at least a week's worth of "sit-down-and-read" time!  Not to mention catching up on laundry, mail, and sundry other chores.  But  I AM back and will slowly try to catch you up on some of the goings-on while I have been away.

First things first, tho'....we are so very grateful that Janelle is back to "herself"...a bad case of viral meningitis is veeeeeerrrrry scary....especially from a mom's point of view.  The whole experience is a saga in itself, and maybe someday I will share that with you, but for now, we are just praising God that she has recovered with no long-term effects.  Thank you to all who were lifting her up in prayer....God answered!

While I was down in MS taking care Janelle and the boys, Willie received a call from Doe River Gorge with an offer of a free "all-access" pit pass for the Nationwide series at Bristol Motor Speedway.  If you know Willie at all, you know that a pit pass has been a dream of his for a very long time and DRG, most especially David Jensen, made it a reality.   Just let me say, when he called to share his good fortune with me, I KNEW it was something "BIG" from the sound of his voice....happier than the proverbial kid-in-a-candy-store!  His excitement was literally racing across the miles between us....and it was contagious!  Yes, I was thrilled for him!  To add to the awesomeness, he got to sit on top of the pit box for over an hour during the race....talk about a rush!  And then on his way out of the track on Saturday, he was talking to a gentleman who asked if he was going to the Sprint Cup race on Sunday.  Willie replied that, no, he didn't have a ticket.  Long story short....he was given a comp ticket for the race on Sunday....how cool is that?

Here are just a few of the many photos he took....once I get my Flickr uploader working again, I will post more there, but until then...enjoy the excitement of the pits..."up-close-and-personal"!

A very memorable weekend for my "Mr. Man"....so glad he got to be a part of the experience...and maybe, just maybe, next time I can share it with him.  THAT would be awesome!
