February.....

February was a very different month for me and Mr. Man...instead of hunkering down, and just waiting out the cold here in East TN we spent the first three weeks at Shocco Springs Baptist Conference Center in Talladega, AL.

When we were active in the SOWER ministry this was one of the projects that we always enjoyed working and it came to feel like "home".  We fell in love with the people here and wish we could take them with us when we leave! 

We were blessed to be able to stay in duplex housing that was built largely built by other volunteers....

Willie spent most of his time working with the maintenance staff....the current job was renovations at the Ridges...while I worked in the office covering the switchboard and working on projects.  It is always great to connect with everyone, to see old friends and to make new ones.


Unfortunately, the weather was not that great while we were there this time, but walking the grounds reminded me of some other times when the views and vistas were more pleasing to the eye.....

And after the snows of winter...well, then comes spring!

I think we left too early this year, don't you?!  Ah well, at least we have our memories and the photos to back up those memories!  Thanks, Shocco, for the opportunity to volunteer in the service of the Kingdom and to do it with such wonderful people and in such a beautiful environment!

After a quick trip home to unpack and repack for the next part of this interesting month, we're headed out again....so check back soon!
