DAY 2 - We woke up to a view shrouded in fog...but it wasn't long until we could see this

Views from our temporary abode at Riverdance.

And then we headed out on a waterfall quest.

After enjoying these gorgeous views we headed down a gravel road in search of Walker Falls, which we had been told was "right beside the road."

Came around the corner and there was this large, impressive rock face....

We were definitely traveling through lush countryside..

And then there it was...right beside the road, just as advertised!

We had also read that there were several small waterfalls on this same road that led to Douglas Falls at the end of the road.  So...we traveled on!  And were surprised by a hawk flying in front of us, and were able to locate his landing spot in this tree.  Not the best pic, but we did find him!

When we got to the end of the road, the sign for the trail that led to Douglas Falls indicated that it was a "More Difficult" trail.  Well, it definitely was!  Lots of roots and rocks to climb over and even a large downed tree that had not been cleared to climb over!  It was not a pretty sight on the way in....but on the return trip I figured out a different way to tackle the obstacle with much greater success.

And there it is...Douglas Falls, a much different-looking falls than Walker...but it is falling water and regardless of the shape or size, I love waterfalls!

Silly Mr. Man!  You don't fit in that tree, even if it is hollowed out!

On our drive back along the seemingly endless gravel road, we stopped to view a number of the other small waterfalls along the route...

We ended the day with dinner in Hot Springs at the Iron Horse Station....some of the best sweet potato fries I have ever tasted!  And then it was on to our mineral bath at the Hot Springs Spa...with water piped in from the nearby hot springs.  THAT was an hour I enjoyed!  While we were in our private little area, Willie spotted this family across the creek....

They stayed around for a good bit and it was so fun to watch them as they feasted on the leaves.

Well, Day 2 is in the books....we'll have to see what Day 3 holds!
