We have decided that the panhandle of Florida is definitely not in a rain deficit for 2008! Plans this weekend were supposed to include a quick trip over to Gulfport to see the church that Willie worked so hard on a couple of years ago, but the weather and a case of sinusitis have changed that...looks like we will be staying close to "home" this weekend!
"Ladies' Day Out" was planned for this past Weds....and went on despite the rain. We made the rounds of a great used book store, a couple of thrift stores, an antique and "stuff" mall, and some of the more usual stores (i.e., Michael's, WalMart). Our sightseeing was done from the relative warmth and dryness of our vehicles, but we did drive around the world's smallest city block (as recorded in the Guiness Book of Records)......don't blink, or you'll miss it! Mildred's Tea House was our appointed lunch stop....what a delight....and the fried chicken was wonderful!Yesterday we heard one of the cows out back bawling....saw one of the momma cows bawling at a vulture that was getting too close to her new calf (still on very wobbly legs). That mother instinct comes to the forefront once again!
Momma and her baby!
