What a week it has been! The spectre of bronchitis has been haunting me for almost two weeks, and it finally won....but not before God did some awesome things! Following a "thumb in the back", I had offered to share in a service with the young men (boys!) here at "the" ranch, and Wednesday night was the appointed time. I had spent a good part of the first part of the week coughing and feeling rather rough, but felt that God wanted me to follow through and speak/sing Weds. night. And what an awesome God He is!!! From the time I stood up in front of those guys, I never coughed once, I never stumbled over what I was going to say because God provided the words! And I even made it through three songs without coughing. I could tell by the faces that some wars between good and evil were raging in some, and I knew that the words God gave me were hitting home....and it was borne out at the end of the service when the altar was opened....there were quite a number of boys (not unusual here) and some were openly sobbing. In talking with one of the drill instructors afterward, he said that one of the boys in particular had been carrying a lot....and that it seemed he was finally laying it down! PRAISE GOD!!! That was definitely worth a month with no cell phone service!
On Thursday, after I had done what God called me to do, I ended up at an urgent care type clinic with an acute case of bronchitis...ouch...those shots hurt! Again God had it covered....I had a wonderful doctor and was beginning to feel a little better by Friday morning, and am continuing to slowly improve.....staying in this weekend (out of the cold and the wet).
Have a GREAT weekend....and keep these guys in your prayers.....God is working!
