I have been reveling in the beauty of God's creation this week....the colours of His palette are truly awe-inspiring....
We have seen the vista at this bridge in spring, summer and fall...each magnificent in their own unique way....but I must say, so far, this is my fav....though I still have yet to see it covered in snow.
Last week Mark took the SOWERs up the gorge tracks on the speeder....
.....to the "end-of-the-line" (trestle over the Doe). I can "see" all the activity that these tracks have witnessed through the years....trains hauling people, iron ore, families out for a fun day at the amusement park...and now these tracks "see" young and old people alike as they participate in events here at Doe River....some coming to a relationship with Christ, and multitudes of others seeking God's guidance and purpose in their lives. What a privilege to be just a small part of the workiing of God in the lives of His creation!
On Friday, JoAnn and Emmett White took us along with them on a day-trip to Rogersville, TN...to see the replica of a 1950's town....only problem was, we had difficulty finding it! After a delicious lunch at a mom-n-pop diner in the historic downtown area, we drove out looking for "Memory Lane", which we discovered is - literally - in the back 40 behind an auto body shop! But for those fortunate enough to find it, it is a unique step back in time.
Thanks, Emmett, for being persistent! It was worth it.
HOUSE UPDATE - except for the walk-through, all has been done in preparation for the closing, which has been set for Friday, the 29th, at 9 a.m. God has truly been leading, and we are grateful for His provision and are excited about what He has in store for us....a little scared (our lives are undergoing a major change), but excitedly anticipating the future He has planned....
