Charlottesville - A Day with Kaila and Tyreese

We had the opportunity to spend the day in Charlottesville with Kaila and Tyreese...what do you do with two grandkids who have boundless energy?  Well, try to wear them out, that's what!  So we headed for the outdoor mall in the heart of Charlottesville.  The kids were all excited about riding on the carousel.  In my mind I envisioned a much larger carousel, and one that was not people-powered!  But they had fun, and that's what counts...

Tyreese decided he couldn't stand still long enough for a posed photo....so Kaila posed prettily by herself.
We were pleasantly surprised when the Discovery Museum opened....veterans and all those accompanying them were admitted free!
Both of the kids enjoyed this contraption where they could change the direction of the airflow to control where the scarves and foam balls exited....but I think Tyreese enjoyed it the most....well, except for Willie, and he enjoyed watching them enjoy it!

There were lots of hands-on activities....

And the chance to try on lots of different "hats"/roles...

 Future M.D.?
 Or maybe a farmer?

The frontier "hostess with the moistest"
Now for a well-deserved rest....
 Stopping for a photo-op
And now, it's time to take the fun outdoors....

And then it's back to the hotel for a little down time and a swim in the pool.  I was impressed with how well Kaila helped Tyreese with his swimming....in just a short time he was doing much better!

But like all days, this one came to an end, and we said our "Goodbyes".  Oh...and about that "wearing them out" thing?   Didn't happen!!  We were the ones worn out but this day will definitely go down in the "Good Day" column!
 'Til next time...
