Last month was the time for Sierra's visit with us....we met halfway between Jonesborough and Charlottesville and then made our way home to begin our week together.   We always enjoy introducing our grandkids to our friends at church and this time was certainly no exception!
Willie had been waiting for Sierra's visit to have her teach him how to make the survivor bracelots...she actually taught both of us and made a couple for herself!
Monday was spent working on her scrapbook of her visits with us.....
And of course, no visit to Mimi and Gandpa's would be complete without some "tree" time....
....and a campfire complete with s'mores!

We also snuck in a little pool time at one of the neighbor's.....

We had two "big" adventures for the week....the first was a trip to The Aquarium of the Smokies in Gatlinburg, which is always a big hit with the grandkids, and Sierra was certainly no exception.

Some strange-looking creatures, to be sure,,,,
 ...and some innocent-looking piranhas...
....and some beautiful tropical reef fish...
...and some beady-eyed predator and prey (?)....
Then it was time to get up close and personal with some horseshoe crabs...
 Still more unique creatures....

 ...and one VERY unique "creature"....
And a beautiful young lady was spotted, too...
 Penguin exhibit...

And now it's time to bid farewell to the aquarium.  Check back tomorrow for more updates....on our Roan Mountain hike and then Mimi and Grandpa's day with Kaila and Tyreese in Charlottesville.  Whew....it's been a busy, but good, summer!
