While we have been "snowbound", I have been working on a few things...like overhauling the blog (nowhere near done), a little scrapbooking and some experimenting with my pressed flower notecards. I'm not ready to share yet, but I'll let you know later how it all turned out.
We were so glad that Amber, Becky and Cody were able to come visit for a few days before Christmas and to help celebrate their dad's birthday. It was fun showing them around our new home and neighborhood.

All in all, a very fun evening!
The next day we headed out to Doe River Gorge (in the freezing bitter cold....did I mention it was cold?). Just wanted to let them see where we had done some of our volunteer work....while we were walking up the railroad tracks, Amber was overheard on her cellphone...
"Yeah, we're walking up some railroad tracks in a gorge by a river on a cliff." Pretty much described it, and we didn't make it very far before we decided it just wasn't worth it. We did walk down and show them one of the lodges....dressed in its Christmas finery.
I know it was cold, but I must say, I think Doe River is beautiful in any season!
Thank you for being our first overnight guests and helping us to celebrate your dad's birthday!
Not pretty, but yummy!
Have a great day, and here's hoping for another "no-snow" day!
