As promised yesterday....I AM BACK!
The weather forecast calls for more...you got it....snow tonight and tomorrow. So I am thinking about thawing that huge pot of chili I put in the freezer last week....sounds good, especially with some homemade bread, doesn't it? Our electric bill more than doubled this last month, so in an effort to cut back on our usage, I decided to do a LOT of cooking/baking one day last week. My oven is REALLY big, so I know it takes a lot of energy/ electricity to heat it up, so my thinking is.....why not get all the baking/cooking done on one day while the oven is already hot? Sounds good to me....I'll let you know how it plays out the next time our electric bill comes due! But in the meantime, the freezer downstairs is chock full of good things to eat.
To give me a little more time to organize my thoughts so I can put together some posts about the goings-on around here, I thought I'd share some more photos of our "visitors". Caveat....I MUST be getting old if I get such a kick out of watching these little feathered friends and seeing how they interact with each other. Or......maybe I'm just taking time to enjoy some of God's creation and do the proverbial "smell the roses" kind of things.
BTW - all the above photos were taken through either the kitchen or dining room window...can't wait til I can get outside and go exploring-with-camera-in-tow. Talk about a lot of pictures to go through....yikes!
On another note - the message this morning at our church was one that I really needed....it made me stop and think about the things, people, circumstances or attitudes that I let keep me from being all that God has planned for me. I am looking forward to the journey this year and pray that I follow more closely where He leads. That in itself, is an adventure (so much unknown), a blessing (that He is there with me every step of the way), and a challenge (that I WILL walk more closely in His footsteps)!
"See" you tomorrow!
