We left Zion National Park behind....
Spotted this "interesting" RV at our rest stop....This was the view at our rest stop....
Then we made a scheduled stop in Page, AZ....
....the view from the bridge....
...and the beautiful Lake Powell created by the dam. This is a popular resort and recreation area here in this part of Arizona.
More beautiful formations...
Upon our arrival at Lake Powell Resort, we had an "appointment" for an afternoon cruise on the lake...
We even cruised up close to the dam....
...and then we started into Antelope Canyon...
Our tour was narrated so we were able to hear lots of interesting facts about the area and the canyon itself.
We thoughts these holes in the walls were perhaps created by birds and other critters....but, no....they are a result of wind, water and erosion....
We are going to go where?! This boat is going to fit through there?
See those canoers? (Hmm, is "canoers" even a word? If not, I'll pretend it is!)
I love these "swoops"!
After traveling three miles into the canyon, we are on our way back out...
As we returned to the resort, the sun was starting to set....
...and what beautiful colors!
Do you know the difference between a mesa and a butte? Well, if you don't, this is a butte...
...notice how the sides are longer than the top is wide. And this is a mesa...
The top is longer than the sides are high. Facts aside, I am just in awe of the colors found in all of this beauty!
Good night, Lake Powell!
Tomorrow we will be heading deeper into the Antelope Canyon...to the famous Antelope Slot Canyon tour. Can hardly wait to share the beauty of this natural phenomenon with you, so check back soon!
