Don't faint or fall over from shock, but t is actually happening....I'm going to post AGAIN (!!!)...for the second day in a row. I know, I know, that in itself is almost worthy of a report from CNN...well, maybe not, but given my track record the last couple of years it IS quite an accomplishment. I knew when I saw that photo a day challenge that it might just be the impetus I needed.s
Here's today's photo....
.....some of the beautiful coneflowers in our yard. If you'll notice, there are very few "stars" of pollen left.....that's because our bees quickly found these beauties and pretty well stripped them!
Just for good measure here are a few photos from Nathan's time here....the first of the grandchildren to visit this summer.
Playing Yahtzee on the back deck with Papa...
Just love this sweet face....
And posing with his very favorite animal at Bright's Zoo....
...S.J., a young female Siberian lynx kitten. Nathan was captivated!
Feeding carrots to Valerie, one of the giraffes....
Oh, the joy and anticipation a simple ice cream cone can bring!
....to say nothing of July 4th sparklers!
One of his favorite pastimes....when it wasn't raining....was to climb the trees in the back yard. He called this one "The Climbing Tree" and his favorite position....the sloth!
Helping Mimi in the garden....we harvested the rest of the salad carrots and planted beans while he was here....quite the gardener, he is!
It rained most of the time he was here, but he wanted to go fishing, so fish he and Papa did! And this was the biggest - and only- catch of the morning! Could have had something to do with all that muddy water....kinda' hard for even a fish to see a worm in that water!
Our version of Uncle Sam at the parade in Jonesborough on Saturday, July 6....his picture actually made the Jonesborough newspaper!
We had to dodge rain all week, but we did manage to work in some fun activities while he was here. I think he is already planning ahead for next year's activities!
Enjoy your day, and count your blessings....this little guy is definitely one of ours!
