Alaska Adventure - Day 8

Ahhhh...the joys of room service and breakfast in bed!  It was a nice relaxing way to start the day.  We took a stroll around the ship.....

....checking out all the nooks and crannies, including the library where Willie checked out where we were in relation to the coastline of Alaska....
 What a view....

C'mon, Mr. Man....it may be cold, but how 'bout a smile!  LOL
Not only was it cold, but VERY windy....
And the views keep on coming...

And there it is....the Hubbard Glacier, our objective for the day....

Mr. Man, on the lookout for wildlife...

...the face of the glacier is over 300 ft. high!

Look at all those colors!
Just one of the many floating icebergs...we thought this one looked like an alligator...

Beautiful from every angle....

See that puff of white on the far right?  This glacier just calved, along with the accompanying "white thunder"!

Just so beautiful! We were told that it is a very rare occasion when the views of the glacier are this clear AND you can get so close.  Our captain actually turned the ship so that both .port and starboard sides had about 45 minutes viewing times from the stateroom balconies..

What's that over there....on that iceberg?
Why, it's harbor seals!

Uh, oh!  We must have gotten a little too close....they are diving off!

What a beautiful, if cold, day!  We feel so incredibly blessed to have seen so much beauty today....
And now, we say goodbye to the Hubbard, and it's on to Glacier Bay National Park tomorrow!
