Tuesday dawned bright and beautiful....Willie's back is doing well, and my knee isn't too bad after yesterday's walking, so we are excited about seeing this bit of history (turned out to be a huge chunk....in fact, this day will require two posts, so I don't overload you with words and/or photos!)
We arrived at the Center shortly after the doors opened.....
SOOO much to see and not enough time to see it all. And, of course, there are flowers around....oooo....there's one!
and even Virginia Creeper out here in Wyoming...imagine that!
The birch trees just amaze me...so pristine-looking as they rise into the sky.
We started with the photography exhibit....so beautiful and so interesting, but I figured they wouldn't want authorized copies of their photos on MY blog since I couldn't give them the credit they so richly deserve. So you'll just have to take our word for it!
Next we headed into the firearm section....rows and rows of all types of firearms with lots and lots of history. And even tho' we do like to shoot, we're really not all into the history, etc.
Then we headed into the Natural History section...
Don't you just love the look on this guy's face? The saying "He's so ugly he's cute" fits, wouldn't you say?
We have a red fox that comes into our yard occasionally so I was really interested in learning a little more....didn't know they weren't all red!
Our "old friend", the pronghorn, also called the American Antelope (even tho' they are not of the antelope family).
Then it was outside to one of the several gardens...
I've always assumed the birch tree back would be feel kind of "papery" - actually, it feels more like concrete!
This is Jade - a Bald Eagle who has been injured and cannot be returned to the wild....glad she is safe, but it is sad to see her confined when her nature is to soar among the clouds.
Just look at those eyes!
Next we entered the history of Buffalo Bill portion of the Center....lots of interesting artifacts.
And while Willie visited the Native American portion of the Center, my knee and I enjoyed a little break and a delicious latte!
And....we're on the road again, headed to Yellowstone and all the wonders that await us there. But in the meantime here are a "few" photos from the ride today....

Next stop....Cook City for lunch and then on to Yellowstone....where there are now an estimated 3,000 bison "calling" the Park home!
