Grand Tetons...

As we were leaving Yellowstone, we drove through some of the areas that had been damaged by forest fires...so sad to see, but at the same time a recognized necessity for the renewal and continuation of the ecosystem here.
Then we were headed for Grand Teton National Park...the Grand Tetons are a relatively new range of mountains, as evidenced by the sharp peaks and crags of the range.
We stopped at Jackson Lake for some of our first good views of the Tetons and the fall foliage just made everything that much more spectacular.....

Our lunch stop was at Jackson Lodge, and we took advantage of the beautiful weather and scenery to enjoy lunch (yummy corn and trout chowder) on the patio.

Then it was "back on the road again" as we headed for Jenny Lake....

 Beautiful Jenny Lake....

And, no, that's not leftovers from lunch in my "pouch"...there were no leftovers, and that's my phone!  LoL
We made our way into the Jackson Hole, Wyoming area ....beautiful area ringed by several ranges, including the Grand Tetons.
We were very pleasantly surprised by our lodgings for the next two nights...The Rustic Inn (our tour guide,  Marissa, had tried to convince us that we would indeed by staying in not only a rustic location but one lacking in amenities).  As you can see, that was certainly not the case!  Each couple had their own cabin, very nicely appointed and comfy, to say the least!

After settling in we made our way to the Bar T Ranch for our dinner and the evening's entertainment.  Our mode of transportation was unique, to say the least....
....and loads of fun!

There were even "Indians" to add a little adventure.....
One of our very own, Bob, was selected to be the dinner bell ringer for the night.  C'mon, Bob....ring that bell!
This guy really played his part well...and added some comedy to the evening's festivities...
The entertainment was provided by a band....
....and this guy tore up "The Devil Went to Georgia"!
As we made the return trip in the covered wagons we experienced a thunderstorm (spooked one of the horses a little), complete with pea-sized hail which was bouncing off my knee!  Definitely a different ending to our day.  Tomorrow we will explore a little of Jackson and float down the Snake River....sounds like fun, doesn't it?!
