The Battle at Little Bighorn

Today we are headed for the site of the Battle at Little Bighorn, known by some as Custer's Last Stand......but this terrain is so beautiful in a barren and desolate way, broken by the beautiful yellows of the cottonwoods and alders.
We have arrived....

As we looked out over the vastness of the battlefield, it was easy to imagine the fear, the confusion, the chaos of that battle between the Army and Native Americans....

These white markers are placed to show where Custer and his men fell....

This memorial marks a mass burial site of the soldiers, scouts and civilians who were killed in the battle.

See the white markers in the lower left-hand corner?

The red markers indicate the known location of where Cheyenne and Lakota warriors fell....

There is also a National Cemetery here....
I am always in awe of the rows of markers....
 ....so many stories to tell!

And now we are heading to Cody, Wyoming....

Sometimes it's the little things that catch my attention....like the reflection in this pond....
 ....or these flags....

I think this means us...our coach is over 25 feet by ALOT!

(As you can tell by the reflections, a good number of these photos were taken from the side windows of the coach.  But when there is beauty like this you just have to do your best to capture it!)

Ahhhh...the contrasts...makes my eyes and my heart happy!

Our hotel for tonight is very nice and comfy, so we decided to take advantage and R.E.L.A.X.!!
